This piece is the counterpart to I Am Just a Creature of Fear, portraying my partner, someone whose patience feels almost inhuman in the face of my chaos. Before him, tenderness was an unfamiliar language, but he speaks it fluently. Painting him feels like staring into the sun: blinding, overwhelming, yet undeniably beautiful. And still, I will do it every time, because he is a gift. He takes me as I am, and never has tried to change anything or put me in a box.
